UM how much formula does your baby eat? My daughter has been on Alimentum for 3 months and we still only go through just over a can a week ($25 a can). I think you are exaggerating a bit.

Yes there is another brand of it, it's Enfamil Nutrimigen but it's the same price.

No you can't get it paid for by insurance. You can $5 off coupons sent to you if you sign up for the welcome additions club.

Wow. I thought I had it expensive with the Similac Soy. You might want to ask your dr about the insurance thing and I would also call your local WIC office. They might be able to help you out. My nephew was on that when it first came out and the only way you could get it was through a prescription. So you might be able to get your insurance to help cover some of it. Your dr should know. And if he thinks they will have him write you a prescription. And also talk to your insurance company.

You should check with WIC, my son was just put on that formula 3 days ago by the doctor and i agree with you it is VEEEEEry expensive, but all of his problems are slowly going away with this formula(spitting up,fussy, gassy). I have WIC and they pay for it thank GOD! you should check with them just to see if you qualify it wouldnt hurt!

Ask your Doctor. A good doctor can tell you if your insurence corvers it or not (some do, some don't) and help you get your insurence straigtened out with this.

If your doctor won't help--you need a new doc.

Best of luck

PLEASE ASK YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE YOU TRY THIS

Our pediatrician recommended alimentum because of lactose intolerance and he also suggested soy formula. We use Parent's Choice Soy forumla (found at Wal-Mart). It is considerably cheaper than alimentum, right around $11 for a larger size can of dry formula. It worked wonders with my son. Good luck, and please check with your doctor first.
