I have been waiting 5 years for an "ongoing" (Lord Chief Justice) appeal in the royal appeals court in london. I am not sure where it is "ongoing" for the past year, if at all.

I am amazed this has been going on for so long. Get your lawyer to send a stern letter to solve this issue.

If things do not improve take your case to the European Court of Human Rights.

Should you need advice on the latter I shall be happy to assist.

You have to instruct a solicitor to instigate a judicial review. Presumably you have a mandatory order in mind. (When your case started this was more attractively known as "a writ of mandamus"). Perhaps if you were merely to instigate proceedings it might have the effect of moving things on. But you must take legal advice on this one.
