how much has hollywood taken over british ?

Hi, I am an american, I was wanting to know what is the general opinion in england as to the way culture is changing over there, or if it is and is it holly wood or do you still have plenty of other varieties. why is holly wood so powerful?

we just love all them hollywood movies they are so realistic!

I particularly like the way they always have a happy ending. The baddie always goes to jail and if anyone is lost, they turn up right at the end. just like in real life.

Any culture which does not change with the time will be overtaken by others easily. This is what has happened to British Culture even though it is old and superior. Hollywood is not powerful but it touches the baser values of human nature of gun, women and gold.

I think one of the most serious imports from Hollywood is the horrible self-destruction that teenage girls go through to be as stick thin as one of the Hollywood actresses. They even brought out size 00. I mean what is a 00? You must be a complete nobody, in fact a double nobody, if you are size 00?

hollywood has a powerful effect because it is the global center of the most powerfull medium,.. cinema and tv,but i dont think its power enough to change our cultures.sure some of women are getting plastic surgery but i dont think thats enough to qualify a "culture change".the people in the uk will always drink tea,moan about the weather,eat a sunday dinner,watch corrie and eastenders,drink a pint of beer and dislike the germans!
no ammount of hollywood will change that

We used to have many film studios... but they have lost clout over the years! hollywood is king no doubt.Money and sp-fx has won over a raw talent of acting skills??bU to pull you down here you have some GREAT talent over there, but Arnie, diesel, etc are visual puppets NOT actors??
