Really depends on your carpet. Is the material natural or synthetic?

Natural (wool mostly) material won't suffer from a acetone treatment, however - the dye might disappear. Try first on the back of the carpet to see if there's any discolouration. If this is a fitted carpet, try at some hidden corner if the colour changes.

In case of synthetic material, do the same - the nail varnish remover might not cause too much harm.

If you have a cut pile and the varnish hasn't penetrated too far down, you can even try carefully to "shave" off some of the top.Don't try this with a loop pile, though...

If the carpet is coloured then decide which is worse - the clear nail polish or a big white spot in your carpet, because if you use nail polish remover (acetone) on coloured carpet, it will most likely remove at least some of the dye from the carpet.
Nail polish remover is pretty much the only thing that will get it out though.

Have you tried nail varnish remover? it usually works but just use abit at a time or it will fade your carpet.

Carpets are acrylic. Nail polish remover/acetone will MELT your carpet, leaving a hard area.

Once nail polish is dry, it is not usually removable from fabrics, carpets or upholstery,

I spilt some a while ago on my black leather sofa and used nail varnish to remove it. It did the trick and didn't burn a hole in it or make a mark even!

It may take the colour out of your carpet, try a spot sample in a place where it won't be seen, leave it for 24 hours as it may continue to lighten the dye in the carpet over time.

I suggest black paint and a slight touch of fesis with a pinch of garlic, This will sort any problems like that out
