my school is having a talent show in a few weeks, but the auditions are today!! i have no idea what i should sing. do you think you can help me pick a song? i'm a female, so preferrably a song sung by a female. also, it has to be school appropriate. other people suggested before he cheats by carrie underwood, but looking at the lyrics, i'm a bit hesitant to go up and sing that infront of my school, becuase i'm not quite sure what the teachers will say. also i was thinking about suddenly i see by kt tunstall or jesus take the wheel by carrie underwood. i like both those songs, but i'm not sure if i want to sing them. please help! i like all kind of music - country, pop, r&b, pretty much anything!
thanks so much!

P.S. i'm a soprano and i also have a wide range. I have been in chorus (district competition winners for 2 years) and have taken private voice lessons for 2 years. I am taking a solo to state competition. So I do have singing experience, I just can't make up my mind.

I would bet all I have(that is a dime and a half),that if you choose the song 'suddenly I see,by kt tunstall, you will do great...It is a song that is time-proof,and it is pop and rock and a bit country at the same time...
Other songs I can suugest are 'i hope you dance' by lee ann womack,or 'kiss me',by six pence none the richer..
I am an artist myself...please visit my website on www.thomashedley.com,to hear my music ,or to mail me if you need further advice
So,go for it girl, and GOOD LUCK!

Well, choose a song you are comfortable with. Haha. And never, NEVER choose songs like Promiscuous. I'm sure you know what the song title means. Anyway, "Kiss The Girl" by Ashley Tisdale is a sweet and bubbly song to try. Good luck!

Well, it depends on your voice range and your taste for music.

I'm generally going for classicals (REAL classical music)

And, as I said it depends on your voice range wether you are a:

soprano, mezzo soprano, contralto, or you're just plain into pop music, etc.

Don't sing something that is oversung. Try a classic, like "Somewhere over the Rainbow"
