In case of "Yes" --- is it really that good as "Hannibal"
or "Red Dragon" or "The Silence ...." ???

Honest. I am
a bit "frightened"
to read it.

Aaron.

Hannibal Rising is only worth a read for fans, not the casually interested. The young Hannibal is nowhere near as interesting as the older one in earlier books. It is aimless and badly plotted with a very unsatisfactory ending. Do not expect anything close to the quality of 'Silence of the Lambs' or 'Red Dragon'.

Hannibal Rising is important as the others. This is where you would get to know Hannibal Lecter as a child and how it all started and connect the facts about him from the 3 books.

Yes, i have read all the Thomas Harris books

Hannibal Rising was a complete let down, very poor - would not even bother to buy it. If you are a mega fan perhaps go to the library and loan it, but really its not at all good.

Very disappointing read

Haven't read the book but I'm look ing forward to seeing the movie. For some reason, I'm just fascinated by the character.

NO it wasn't. No big shock, no big plot twist. I own all Harris's books; this is the worst of them.

If you are a fan it's worth a read; but it's nothing special.
