In the earth? Probably the outer core...
Actually, might be the mantle. It's definitely not the crust, probably not the inner core. Not the human species, physically. You could fit us all onto Jamaica if we all squeezed together.
The biggest thing to hit the world would have probably been "Cats" if not that meteor which wiped out the dinosaurs.

1. Nothing, because there are no "things".
2. What do you mean by "thing"? Is a galaxy one thing? Is a planet within that galaxy? If so, can't we divide every "thing" into ever smaller "things"? If so, then the biggest thing is the collection of all things except one infinitisemal thing (because the collection of ALL things IS the world, whereas you were asking for the biggest thing IN the world).

I believe love is the biggest 'thing' (can be touchable or non touchable?) in the world. God is LOVE. How much larger of a scale than that? There is love of: self, others, life, music, the moment, tomorrow, sunrises/sunsets, ----and it all goes back to GOD.....Love is universally found in things; such as music is universal. L*O*V*E and for those of you who don't believe in God? Well, be adult enough to accept my humble beliefs and opinions.

Acknowledging the fact that we are all here to co-exist. Helping one another not forcibly but by way of love, friendship or whatever it may be.
In contrast, self-esteem or ego is another. Mainly one of the main root causes why the object of my first instance fail.
