Well, the "rights" are the same from a legal standpoint, but there is still a discrepancy in the pay and actual opportunities in most areas, with the exception of teaching/education, nursing/medical professions.

I think we need to get rid of all this equal right crap. Equal is not FAIR! For example lets say we are all in the 6th grade and taking a test. A equal test would be one written on the board and all of us had to use our god given eyes to read the board. Those of us that wear glasses/conacts would be 'equal' to those who do not need glasses, however it would not be a fair test. What women and men need is a fair chance in all areas of our life. If the requirements for a job is to lift 100lbs and only 10% of women can do it, then they should be includes with the 95% of men that could do the same task. That would be fair but not equal.

Most women today enjoy equal rights in education and work opportunities but when it comes to sexuality, the same old double standards exist. A man can have sex with lots of women and still be respected and still can find a woman that will look past his sexual encounters especially if it was some time ago. Let a woman have lots of sex partners, she will not be respected by men or other women and not to many men will look past her sexual encounters, even if it was 20 years ago. If she was considered a whore at one point, she will have to completely move out of that town or area to escape her reputation because people talk and someone will eventually get wind of her past. Women may have equal rights when it comes to some things but not equal rights in all areas. Prime example, women are expected to go to work like a man but still have to come home and cook, clean and take care of children like a woman so really she is playing 2 roles.

In employment, in the Home( since us men are just as good woth kids), in the pursuit of happiness, in remaining single as a choice. Women enjoy many more things that used to forbidden for them to do, but there is more to be done, Women, such as you, should be enjoying equality in all things, and we have to see that women are respected all over the world, as a mate to mankind, they are created equal, and we as men should change also, and remove the reason that many women prefer to stay single. We must rid the notion that women are indecent if they don't wear tops. This is neccessary to allow them to nurse in public, an area which greatly frustrates me, as it does most men. It's the sanctimonius hypocritical women that see dirt in almost everything. What could be more natural than to nurse a baby, whether in public or at home, or even in the car. Bring up your sons by showing your breasts so they get used to it, and don't see breasts as abnormal, and create a notion in them that they fixate on your breasts as something sexual. Shower with them, and let them get used to the fact that this is how they were created, and that they need to be respected as an extension of the man!

In Islam a woman is equal to a man. She has rights that are appropriate to her and the man has rights somewhat higher than a woman because men are the protecters of women and he made some to excel above others. Women can vote, they can get an education, they can work as a lady doctor to deal with the women paitents or be a female teacher to teach the girl students, women do not have to contribute to any financial liabilities, any money they earn they get to keep and spend as they like, they can own property, they keep all the possessions they had before marriage, they can choose their husband, they don't have to pray or fast on their periods, they choose their dowry(Marriage gift), etc.

Actually they enjoy MORE rights than men. In germany we still have the draft and men have to work longer too. I cant think of anything that favours men and disfavours women. Maybe prostitution is more costly for women than men and less avaiabel but its all I can think of and it isnt something that is written in law and enforced by the MP.

Usually, in relationships, divorces, and in the home, the woman has more "rights" than a man. Too many men continue to allow this. Other than the divorce example, these iniquitous rights are difficult to quantify, but we all know this is true. Pay attention to the first word in my post,......"Usually."
In many, many other scenarios, women have equal legal rights, but are still discriminated against.

None I hope. What a terrible world this would be if women had the same rights as men. Maybe, someday women can vote.
