hi,scotland!edinburgh is my favorite city in the world, and scotland one of my favorite countries!here i am,in raleigh, the capitol city of the state of north carolina.yes, after unseasonably warm temps most of the winter,we woke up to a snowy wonderland this morning, unexpectedly! i was out of bird food,so i've been feeding them bread and hamster seed.school/work have been cancelled, and i am spending a cosy day at home.alas,my poor husband did have to work today.last year,we had one snow in which the buses couldnt get thru, roads being xclosed,so at 5 or 6 schools, the buses turned round, and all the kids spent the night at their schools.they couldnt leave, nor could their parents collect them.what fun for them!wish i was a kid!well, have a lovely evening, keep warm, and best wishes from "carolina del norte",as we call it. ps-the snow is my fault, actually.everytime i hang wash out on the line,it rains or snows.of course,my favorite items of clothing were coated with ice this morning!

No snow here (nth.London) but plenty of wind (i knew i shouldn't have had that curry last night) But getting back to your question why has everything ground to a halt ? Hasn't everyone got 4x4 where you live, they do here, well how else are we going to get our kids to school and nip into Salisbury's to do our weekly shop !! of course i don't have one, but even if there's a frost on the ground they cant drive the things and heavens above when they come to a speed hump, you'd think they were going up the side of Ben Nevis. Sorry what was your question Oh yes, nope no snow here !

No snow - but a VERY bad case of wind - ha ha!!! Seriously, it's blowing a gale all over the South East, but hopefully by tonight, it'll all have eased off.

Gridlock here in central Scotland.
Too cold to go outside for a snowball fight! You go, and I'll cheer you on from inside.
