i got a cheque for xmas from my nan in kent and i still havent paid it in is there a certain amount of days i have to pay it in to account or not. or can i just pay it in when i want thanks

Most checks are good for 6 mo. But the sooner you ding Nans account the better it is for her. The longer you wait the more likely that she'll forget that it's still outstanding. She wants you to have it, so deposit it by the end of this month.

You have 6 months from the date on the cheque in which to bank it.

Bang it in so the bank cannot use your nan's money, the quicker the better, although you do have 6 months from the date it is written.

You have six months but the soon you get on with it you can save or spend it. It is just a bit of paper sitting in your draw.
