Sorry I'm not trying to gross anyone out, but I need some SERIOUS advice! I was recently on my period and it usually last for five days, with the first three days being the worst and then usually experiencing no cramps and light spotting on the last two days, but for some reason this last time on the last day I began feeling lower abdominal pain and began bleeding a heavier flow, just like I was starting my period again. I did past what seem to be blood clots, but that is not all that unusal during my period. It's just unusual for it to occur when my period was suppose to end. The pain stopped within 6-7 hours, but I had a extra two day of bleeding. I also had flu-like body aches, mostly in my legs, during the extra two days. I'm just really lost and I don't want to waste a trip to the doc, if this really isn't anything, but this just happened a couple days ago, so if this sound a little more serious than what I take it to be, please let me know if you think I should get checked out!

One in four pregnancies ends in miscarriage and most often people do not know it because it coincided with their period. It is very possible that you had a miscarriage.

Miscarriage Signs and Symptoms
The symptoms of miscarriage can vary widely. In some cases, a pregnancy can be lost so early that a woman was not even aware she was pregnant. In other cases, the only sign of miscarriage may be that a woman's period came a few days later than normal. On the other side of the spectrum the symptoms of miscarriage can be quite obvious or severe.

Early Miscarriage Signs and Symptoms
The most common finding in women who have had a very early miscarriage is having no symptoms at all. Various signs and symptoms might include one or more of the following:
Menstrual cycle abnormalities
Late period

Heavier than normal period

A period that lasts more days than usual

Testing abnormalities
A home test was positive but has now turned negative

A serum pregnancy test was positive but has now turned negative

A serum pregnancy test measuring hCG levels was previously increasing but has now started dropping

Other physical sensations
Loss of breast tenderness

Loss of nausea

Subjective feeling of "not being pregnant"

Later Miscarriage Signs and Symptoms
The further a pregnancy has progressed the more likely it is that a woman may experience signs and symptoms that are commonly associated with miscarriage.

Abnormal bleeding
Dark brown spotting

Light pink spotting

Bright red spotting

Bright red bleeding

Passing blood clots - many women who aren't used to seeing blood clots normally during their menstrual flow may think that they are passing pregnancy tissue. While this is true occasionally, it is far more common to pass clots alone.

Physical symptoms
Lower pelvic cramping

Severe pelvic cramping

Generalized or diffuse pelvic pain
Note: Pain in a pregnant patient may also be a symptom of a more serious problem such as an ectopic pregnancy or a ruptured ovarian cyst. Any severe pain or pain that is localized to one side or the other should be thoroughly investigated.

Testing abnormalities
A serum pregnancy test measuring hCG levels was previously increasing but has now started dropping

Ultrasound reveals a fetus without a heartbeat

Two Ultrasounds a week apart have failed to show any change

An ultrasound previously showed a pregnancy in the uterus but it is no longer visible
Note: At this point a lost pregnancy may still result in a positive home test or blood test. A quantitative level is needed to show the numbers are decreasing.

Other physical sensations
Loss of breast tenderness

Loss of nausea

Subjective feeling of "not being pregnant"

Could be anything really so the best thing to do, and safest, is to visit the doctors because if it is a miscarriage it would still result in a positive pregnancy test while your hormones still need to go down and you will possibly need treatment. Fingers crossed your okay!

In the first place, you would not be having any period if you were pregnant.
If there was the chance that you were pregnant, then you probably did miscarry.
If it ever happens again, keep some of the discharge for a good gynecologist to run some blood tests on to see if you were pregnant and miscarried.

This can happen if an egg gets fertilised but does not implant itself in the womb. It is then shed during your next period. Usually when this happens it is due to genetic defects which could grave illness or disability .

girl, you need to get to a doctor ASAP because girls do tend to have complications from miscarriages and it better to be safe than sorry . If all fails follow your heart on what you should do.
