I read a review by a customer on Amazon. He stated he had over-heating issues.

as far as I know, It doesn't overheat, but it does get pretty hot.

they only way I could see it overheating would be if it was in a small confined location

Both the Xbox 360 and PS3 are basically high powered PCs with their parts crammed in little cases. What this means is that these consoles lack the extra room for airflow that most computers enjoy.

Your console will therefore put off a bit of heat, but it should be just fine if you give adequate room for it in your entertainment center. If it starts overheating, you'll notice games freezing up, or the console itself locking up for no reason. It's unlikely you'll run into these issues since they were engineered to run optimally. However, if you do, by all means contact Sony's customer support for repair/replacement of your console.
