yes I do. For example all the start trek movies have the number 42 several times because of hichikers guide etc. The back to the future movies have loads about cola and the movie The Fith Element has some about MCdonalds.

No, I dont think so. Some people in the answers about aren't pointing out Subliminal messages, they are pointing out a from of advertising call "Product Placement", This is where a character in the film will be, Lets say in a cafe, Having a drink and you can clearly read something like "Coca-Cola" on the drink can or something... Technically its not subliminal...

There are lots of advertisement "placements" within a movie. Is this a subliminal message? I think it is and it is a huge market for the movie industry. We can thank Steven Spielberg and ET for making it as large as it is now. Spielberg was looking at M&Ms but Recees paid a lot more to get in the movie. From then on movie execs realized that it was no peanuts "pun" and could make tons of money from this practice of subliminal advertising.

I just remembered a funny thing - in one of the Columbo episodes - someone murdered someone but only because of a subliminal message they got through a movie showing they went to!!

I had heard that they used to years ago - like flasha hamburger or a drink for a split second just so you would get the urge to go and get one, but I don't think they do!!

the only subliminal message I ever reckon works is when I see someone spark up a *** in a movie - I always reach for one myself! strange!!

I don't think so. I think any are just someone's idea of a practical joke or coincidences. Movies do have messages through things like symbolism, but they're not subliminal. And I don't believe words that have meanings when said backwards have any significant effect on the subconscious mind.

There used to be a practice of placing subliminal cuts into a movie it was a form of covert product placement .they would flash up a picture of a hamburger or popcorn or cola and you wouldn't be aware that you'd seen it but then you'd start craving for the product you'd seen.I believe it's illegal now,an episode of Columbo featured the practice. If your talking about someone trying to impose an impression or a view on the viewer then of course I believe that every film maker has some kind of political agenda.

I heard a report once that stated the messages are sublimunal to get people to buy snacks during the movie, it was a long time ago and thats the only instance I have ever heard of.

Apparently The Exorcist flashes up scary images for a split second so that your mind sees it but your eyes do not. This is to make the viewer even more frightened of the film and therefore the film more successful. My brother told me that if you flick through the film on 'pause' you will see the images - I think he said that one is a skull, another somebody screaming, I don't remember the others.
