well one I know of is called "True Comfort Heating System" it is a radiant heat running on electricity. It is very efficent and fairly easy to install. This system comes in many square footage lengths so be prepaired to know the sqft of the area you want to cover. In each box there is a DVD for instruction but the DVD is also playing in all Home Depots so you can watch the DVD before actually purchasing the unit. If the install seems a little out of youy league then ask then to install it for you. You can put the system over wood or contrete. It is suitable for tile, laminate, vinyl and carpet(without under pad)

Check with the manufacturer. Often it is done with PEX piping in a poured concrete slab, but you can still install some types later.

You'll need to have a separate circulation pump, and probably a header to adjust valves for the different room temperatures. Smaller rooms may heat up faster than larger ones, so make sure you can control it somehow.
