disc defraggment is done by going to start>programs>accesories>system tools>disc defragmenter
the way the defraggementer works is simply by arranging your files in a way that they can be accessed quicker,when we save a file or load a program files will be placed anywhere depending on the situation,this dosent make your p.c slower its knows where they are but after a while the p.c get fraggementedand can slow down a little
running the defragmenter will sort out your files and programs ,much in the same way as a libarian will sort out the books in a libary,all in their place in alpebetical order,and this gives your p.c a boost in speed
there is a excellent program called "diskeeper" avalible from http://www.diskeeper.com/diskeeper/home/diskeeper.asp,this works in a similar way to the windows version but this will defragment your drives while you carry on with your tasks,and it does it in such a way your p.c,s performance is not affected,its only a trail but its worth a go,i have the full version
another good peice of software that keeps your p.c in tip top condition is "advanced windowscare personal" avalible from http://iobit.com/AdvancedWindowsCarePersonal/index.html,this cleans up your p.c with just one click,and removes spyware,registry errors,temporary files ect,and it takes around 2 minutes to complete,i use this every day and wouldnt do without it,if you want the pro version you need to pay for it

go to www.torrentspy.com and download 0&0 defrag pro, this is the best one I have used. windows has a defrag built in but its not all that good. I normally defrag every couple of weeks, your hard drive will soon get cluttered up making it run slowly. you dont have to use torrentspy there are other file sharing sites that mostly have the same.. You can get nearly any programme for free even windows xp aswell as movies, music etc.. best thing is its all free.

The first time you defragment (people have told you how) it could take a long time. Subsequently it should run quicker. Personally, I do mine very couple of weeks or so, only takes a couple of minutes.

It optimises your hard drive moving parts of files together so they are continuous, this allows faster access and speeds up your computer. You should do it once every 2 months or so.

defragment now
defragment about once a month or so

i think you mean defragment. go to start,accesories and tools,i think its there.i do mine once a month
