I'm going to upgrade my HD but i don't want to lose any of my things or have to install another OS. is there a way to put everything including the operating system over to the new one. the reason for this is because my HD that i have now is only 10gb which is fcuking gay.
im going to get a new hard drive. its a good computer just a crap hd.
there are ones with 60gb for $65 at my local computer store which is about how much i need. and don't say i need another computer either...

better yet, the last time my junk old comp had its hdd upgraded(more like replaced), the computer shop guys moved everything from the old harddrive onto the new one, no probelms there at all, talk to the computer shop guys about it, see what they can do

and if there's space in your box for a 2nd harddrive then by all means, just pop it in, it'll appear as a new volume, all OS operations will take place in your old one

put your new one in your computer as a slave drive.
download everything into the new harddrive
then install windows on it as an upgrade
it won't erase anything now.
but now you have all the programs to run windows on your new hdd

(not 100% sure this works though)

If i were you
i would just hook the 60 gb up to the 10gb as a slave drive mentioned before
now you have 70gb
and you never have to transfer a thing

Yes, you could do it very easily using Norton Ghost.

Take a backup of existing and restore it on the new one.

Please note they should be of the same file system.
