Sceptics say it was filmed out in the desert. Noting the flag was blowing, whereas theres no wind on the moon. There was no blast point where the thrusters fired down while landing. They also reckon the US did this in a race to beat Russia to the moon

I myself dont think we ever have walked on the moon.

Would be interesting to hear your opinions

give me a brake, they couldn't even make it to the moon right now, let alone in the 60's! why do you think they are planning on 'going back' only around 2020? 'Cos maybe by then they'll have the technology!

You clearly have not done any critical thinking or research about the moon landings. Of course the flag stays up, there was a wire that holds it up (if you look closely at the photos you can see where it is, along the top edge).

All of the arguments that it was faked are based on flawed knowledge of physics, optics, perspective and much more. It's a far, far more difficult proposition to simulate the moon landing convincingly than it is to actually land on the moon -- which was, by no means, a simple task.

If you need any more evidence, please research the British radio astronomer that listened to the astronauts landing on the moon using the Jodrell Bank radio telescope. By measuring the Doppler shift of the radio carrier wave, he plotted the movement of the Apollo 11 lunar module in great detail. Consider what would be involved in faking this type of data, and then consider the alternative which is that there was an actual spacecraft landing there. What is more likely?

Only people who do not know and understand the facts think the Moon landings were fake.

The flag is NOT blowing! Just look at the VIDEO. Still pictures cannot show motion, even if it is there. Only moving video can show motion. The flag does not move in the video motion pictures, of which there are many, but it is held in place by a special bar attached to the flag pole in a way that makes it APPEAR to have been caught in mid flutter by a still camera. It was designed this way by engineers who knew it would not fly on the Moon but wanted it to look good on camera! Any idiot should know this, but the fools keep saying OVER and OVER that it flutters. It drives me crazy!

There is video of the dust being blasted away by both the takeoff and landing. People just don't look at it.

The US DID do it to beat the Soviets. And they US DID win that race. So if the US really faked it, the Soviet government would have been the first to expose the fake. But they didn't. Because it was real.

Look at the source. See the videos. Read the detailed transcripts of the flights. Take the time to understand the thing before you dismiss it!

Not that our opinion matters in this case. You will always have your sceptics who always are negative. The flag wasnt blowing, it was held up with a little support (I watched the actual lTV broadcast on that day) and it was brought to the attention of the viewers that there was no wind on the mood, so the flag had to be supported. yadda yadda yadda. I was convinced that I was seeing the real thing. Since then, there were quite a few people saying it was fake and had pictures/video to prove it, how it could have been done etcc..... lights, shadow, gravity etc.... Could it have been faked, yes indeed. Did it really happen, probably. There are too many people in NASA that it would be impossible to keep it a secret, someone would have spoke out. Personally I believe it happened.

The reason you get annoyed replies--in your case perhaps unfair--is that a lot of us are sick and tired of conspiracy nuts cluttering up the boards with their fantasies. Yahoo provides an "Alternative" section in the Science/Math area for them. So you accidentally punched some buttons.

You can concoct a "explanation" alternative to science for anything--and people do. Its called "ad hoc" reasoning and make s the fundamental error of trying to make the facts fit your ideas, instead of modifying your ideas to fit the facts.

As to the moon landing--yes, men walked on the moon--and will again, sooner or later. The so-called objections raised by these nuts have no foundation--and are about on the same level as if someone insisted that modern ocean liners are hoaxes because they are made of stell--which everyone knows sinks. :)

If guy ever walked on the moon, why can't they take the Hubble telescope and seem at something they say they left there?? reason they were by no ability there? Yup ! No moon walk for our moon.

here have been many shows on the discovery channel that explain how we did go to the moon. We have moon rocks and we did plant this device that is used to measure the distance from earth to the moon via a laser. The moon is moving away fro the earth as it turns out. Any ways, check out this link

Also, at the time we were mortal enemies with the Russians. The race to the moon was all about showing your guns. Who had the best technology, who was the most power full. If we didn't go to the moon and it was all a hoax, the Russians would had call us on it. They would had called it a hoax since it was in their best interest to discredit us. However, they haven't done so as to this date. hat should tell you something.

It is not my opinion that the U.S. landed a dozen astronauts on the moon, it is a proven fact.

Unbelievable that, in this day and age of "enlightnement", we still have such incredible ignorance and gullibility. The folks who say they have "proof" that we never went to the moon are ignoramouses, completely scientifically illiterate. And the people who fall for their crap are mindless cattle.

Several others have recommended the website www.badastronomy.com. I recommend it, too. At least there the authors have some scientific background to explain the BS put out on the hoax sites.

No, actually their boots walked on the Moon. The atmosphere wouldn't let them enjoy the cool sensation as their feet crunched the dry Moon dirt and rocks under their feet.
If you think the government could pull this conspiracy off, you haven't watched the news lately.
Most peole in government can't go to the bathroom without someone reporting how much toilet paper they use, and how many times they flush.
The only way 3 people in the government can keep a secret is if all three of them die before they get a chance to blog it on their website to get reelected.

The flag wasn't blowing; it was manufactured to look that way, rather than limp around a pole, as it naturally would be on the moon.

I have one logistical problem with conspiracy theorists surrounding the lunar landing, Kennedy's assassination, 9/11 cover-up, etc.:

Given their very nature, most people simply cannot keep a secret for too long. Now, consider that these manufactured items would require assistance for people on a grand scale to pull off. And yet, there appears to be NOT ONE SINGLE eye witness account from a participant in the cover-up.

That, alone, discounts these conspiracy theories, to me.

p.s. I hope you don't think my tone is too harsh. It's certainly not intended to sound that way :-)
