In 1999, the last ever FA Cup semi-final replay took place, as Ryan Giggs of Manchester United scored in extra time to defeat Arsenal 2-1. The goal was voted the greatest in FA Cup history in 2003 [5]. Manchester United went on to beat Newcastle United 2-0, and later completed The Treble by also winning the FA Premier League and the UEFA Champions League.

As already stated, the winners refused to defend their title. An utter disgrace and slap in the face, but how the mighty came crashing back down to earth when they settled for a Carling cup win in early 2006 !!
Still reckon they should've been banned from another years FA Cup for their decision to withdraw
