The line "Play it again, Sam" never appears in the movie. In 1972, Woody Allen made a movie by this title... perhaps making it famous.

Hi Actually no one said "Play it again,Sam" Ilsa asked Sam to play the song "As time goes by". Rick had told Sam to never play that song again because it reminded him of Ilsa.

Yup, no one said it. There are a few lines CLOSE to that, but no one actually says that exact phrase which has become so famous. Good movie though! It was on here a couple of nights ago.

It was Bogie and he actually said, "Play it, Sam". He was talking about a song that meant a lot to him. The song was "As Time Goes By".
