I was a fashion photographer back before digital came out. When digital was exposed to society, I maintained my opinion of film being way superior to digital. BUT, now that digital quality has improved, and with my present experience with digital; I don't think I'd ever go back to film. In fact, I'm thinking of selling my whole system. Of course, to match the depth of field and flash quality of a good film camera, you will pay for the digital.

professionals- old style better sharper images and better black and white pictures however for us meer mortals digital all the way, allows for a better success rate and so easy to cart around, no film needed

I'm going to go with digital too
as long as you get a decent camera, you're going to get high quality prints (Mine is an Oylmpus)
I love being able to email pictures, share them with my family, and seeing them right away!

I was desperately looking for a good photography video course... I found this one that I liked a lot: http://learnphotography.toptips.org
It's very well made and explained and it helped me a lot with my hobby (my pictures look really professional now!)
