Darkness, Ghost and theives

I had a profound fear of being kidnapped. It kept me awake at night even though I grew up in a town so small that many people there today don't bother locking their doors and my father had a small arsenal to deal with unwelcome nocturnal visitors. I don't know if it was a really delayed form of separation anxiety or what. Even 30+ years later I can still remember nightmares about being packed away into the night from my front porch steps. In retrospect I wonder why my fears never involved someone taking my brother. I'm sure he was the cute one. :-)

I was afraid of sharks under the bed. lol. This fear was resolved the second day I used the satin sheets my aunt had given me with my satin pajams ( from china ) I took a running jumo at my bed and hit the head board... hard ten stitches later I decided that the sharks weren't that important I was like seven at the time I think I left a trail of books from then on that I could step on to "keep me safe"

so i guess the most illogical fear would have been that my cat was going to get sucked in by the vacuum cleaner.

i was also afraid of the life size stuffed white horse, its eyes kept on staring at me as i slept. i used to throw it on the floor so i couldn't see its eyes. one night i woke up with the top 1/2 of it on my bed staring at me. seriously.

When I was tiny someone on our street used to play the bagpipes and whenever he used to play I was convinced that there was a threatening eighteenth century band of soldiers dressed in kilts marching down our street.

I was terrified of 2 things,
1) if I flushed the toilet something was going to crawl out of the toilet and "get me" so I had to flush and run
2) If I didn't have every part of my body covered by my blanket and all the ends tucked under me, "they" would be able to get me. but as long as I was covered I was safe.

OMG lookout right here it is going. i'm from East TX close to a small city referred to as Palestine. it is the county seat of Anderson county so it had considered one of those vast courtroom properties wit the dome/steple ceilings. properly as a baby knew that TX exchange into huge and that i presumed united states of america exchange into in TX and the courtroom homestead exchange into DC and the reality that my mom had to pass there "to sign up her automobile" i presumed the President exchange into going to throw her in reformatory.
