yes my daughter had this she was on the billibed (photography)for four days till the levels came down she still had quite high levels so you have to feed well to flush it out there system.she was fine they do blood tests to check if they have come down we came home five days later and she never looked back she's 9 months and beautiful so don't worry congratulations xx

All 3 of my kids were jaundice, they put them under the lights, the hardest part of putting the baby under the lights is you can't hold him/her. My kids are 8, 6, and 4, and they are healthy kids, so don't worry about that. also try putting the baby in the sun not sure were you live strip the dady to its diaper and sit by a warm window were the sun shines in, that helps break up the bilirubin. Your baby will be just fine.

This is very common and is easily fixed. They will place your baby under a special light while he is in the hospital and he will be fine. The bilirubin level will come right down with no problem.
This happened to my first baby and was easilty taken care of.
Don't worry.
I hope that you are breast feeding. That is the best thing you can do for your baby! I nursed all of mine until about 1 year.
Take care and good luck.

Aww.it's scary I know! Our 1st was jaundice, and he was under those big lights at the hospital. We were sent home with the photo therapy, and within a week or so they started going down. It's normal, just keep an eye on it. He was a little glow worm!

My baby was jaundice also! Poor guy had to have his heel pricked 2x after we were discharged from the hospital. I cried right along with him (due to the postpartum hormones). But he was normal within a week. Good luck and enjoy these newborn days...they grow up quickly!!

It's perfectly normal... Both of sons had this as well. All I did was around noon time when it's warmer.. I would undress them them let them sun tan ^^* inside. I didn't like doing this early morning b/c air is colder first in the morning. YOur daughter will be home and your next question will be "help my newborn will not sleep and I'm tired!!!! Both of kids got better withen 2 weeks and now they are 6 and 4 and are very healthy.

This happens to many, many babies and the lights work fairly quickly. She will be home and lighting up your life within a week. The babies all do well and this will not affect her life. Congratulations on the birth of your daughter may she live long and prosper.

My third child had it and she is fine when they let the baby come home try to lay the baby where the sun can shine on him/her this helps with keeping the levels low. Congrats and Good luck

it may be just physiologic jaundice.. this means that the condition is normal and you dont have to worry about your kid.

if the jaundice occurs 24 hours after birth, then it may be pathologic jaundice (not normal).
