I think that if I can't do my dream job when I'm older, I will be homeless with no job and have no skills! Is it normal to think like this at 15, especially when that dream job is singing ? Does anyone else? Will my thoughts change as I get older?

Have you had objective people tell you that you can sing? I ask this, because it's important to determine at the outset if you are talented in an area before putting a lot of effort and time into chasing a dream. If you have had this happen then I say go for your dream. However, I would also make some moves to prepare for a bit of reality too by having a back up plan. You could do both by checking out a university that specializes in music. Take theory classes, voice lessons, learn to perfect an instrument there, but also take education courses, so that you may teach or possibly write music for others if the dream becomes a bust.

I would also encourage you to start now. Take voice lessons now. Learn guitar and/or piano now. To make it in music you have to be talented, creative, and disciplined. Just ask Amy Lee of Evanescence. She has an awesome voice, but she also studied music, which allows her to write it, and play it, as well as perform it. No, she didn't complete college, but she obivously studied enough to make a definite difference (then her record label sent her to acting school to make sure she had good stage presence). She also took many years of classical piano. It definitely paid of for her.

well what is your dream job? You knows you can't do it? People are pushed so hard to try and know what htey are doing but you can change careers if you're not satisfied and you're young so your perfect job could change. What needs to happen is if you try your "dream" job and it doesn't work out then you see an alternative to what you like, maybe a music producer? Something in the singer profession? communications field? so many possibilities.

I tried to do all the ordinary things that other people do and it didn't work. I am simply no good at doing anything normal. I am finding myself forced to do my dream job because nothing else works. I still resist it because it seems such a crazy thing to do, but it does seem to be the only thing that works.

If you are anything like me then you are probably right - you need to follow your dream.

It is normal to feel like this, but it's not true that you will fail in life if you don't get your dream job.

you need to watch a little more cartoons and OC, in lieu of reading times.
