ignorant ......are you also against curing cancer Alzheimer's or scientific advancements to prolong the health and well being of everyone including people in your family why don't you turn off your computer and walk to the nearest cave in the middle of nowhere and proceed to live your life in the dark ages and please don't come asking for help if you find yourself terminally ill at any hospital that may be busy helping people that can advance the human race

I am for. Stem cells are a viable solution to a lot of medical problems facing us today. And stem cells dont always come from "dead" embryos.

Stem cells can come from grown people, I think they are harvested from the base of the spine, but Im not sure on that one.

Recent studies have also found stem cells in amniotic fuid - the fluid surrounding a fetus. I believe it can be havested from when the woman's "water breaks" durring labor.

What I am against is killing babies to get their stem cells. I am afraid if we start using aborted embryos for their stem cells that we will start encouraging ever more abortions. What seems to be happening however is that stem cells from other sources seem to work better than embryonic stem cells. The scientists have even found stem cells in amniotic fluid that seem to work better then embryonic stem cells. I think that the scientists should work on these methods more and embryonic stem cells less. If these methods work they could benefit so many people.
