there's no specifik music and/or atrist that better for any range of age. If some people say that some music are better, that's just because they like it and want to share it with others, while some other suggest music like classical (Mozart, etc.) only so they looked smart and classy (as the word classic came from the word class, specificcally means higher class).

Any music (as long as it's not crap, music made by those celebrities for popularity and money), is good for everyone, maybee you can sort out wich one is real music, wich one is commercial music for money, wich one is real artist and wich one is celebrities claiming them self as an artist.

The most important is, give your child enough information about the music they're listening to, so they could learn to apreciate.

Hope this Help
Bless You

Rock, punk, rap, hip hop, R&B, pop, metal and so on and so on

I recommend MP3 or Ipod for their technical equippments, as for singers I think My Chemical Romance will be a great choice for depressing but beautiful songs. BackStreet Boys (most song) for sad or love song. Linkin Park/Trivium/Slipknot are metals which are screaming all sorts. Simple Plan/Blink-182/Snow Patrol and so on are extreamly nice pop music.

Don't know what they are listening to these days, but when I was 14 it was the Sex Pistols, Sham 69, The Ruts, The Clash, Thin Lizzy, Cream and a bit of Hendrix and Joplin, fantastic.

Well it very much depends on the individual and what their friends listen to. I know that most fourteen year olds I know listen to Britney Spears, Greenday, The Killers, Kelly Clarkson, Snow Patrol, Sandi Thorn(much not so much now...), Madonna, Bon Jovi, Mac Fly, Westlife, Take That(now that they are reformed...), and all types of popular and dance music. I also have freinds that love Marlyn Manson!!!!!!! Drums, keyboard and Guitar seem to be the most popular instruments. They inspire to alot of things!!!! They are fourteen they just want to be popular and have a good time and express themselves!!!!!! With loud music and banging of doors!

ask some 14 year olds and you will find that no two listen to the same kind of music. don't group people by what age they are.

That entirely depends on the individual. When I was fourteen I listened to Metallica, AC/DC, Pantera, And the like my friend on the other hand listened to Rave music and techno and R&B. It all depends on the person. Most of the time you can tell what kind of music people listen to by how they act and what they wear. You would know that I like Hard Rock if you saw me. You would also know that my friend was a Raver, if you saw him.....Hes always decked out in Neon clothes and has crap loads of Glow Sticks on him.......But like I said it depends :)
