yes you will loose mass but your overall density will increase cause the material density you left away is lower than the rest
think about the blown balloon density and the deflated one density

well as far as loosing of weight is concerned the fact is quite correct in ideal conditions.
Yes you do loose some mass due to escaping of molecules but it isn't significant
