When is Australia going to wake up and realize we are in the grips of not only a drought, but a serious water famine? And why is Bowral on grade 1 when most of us are on grade 3. Please don't give me stuff about bores! That's crap!

I have lived on and around the catchment all my life and I'm about 30km out side of Bowral

this problem can be so easily solved, all they need to do is build pipelines from Australia's wet north or build huge desalination plants (more expensive option, but still viable) ...the politicians are taking us all for a ride...this lack of action about water is purely the fault of the australian people for not pushing the governments hard enough to take action.

Bowral actually have a high rainfall. I believe we should all be on water restrictions, but I also believe we need to make long term plans for collecting more water. I live in Rose Bay and last month we had 3 weeks of almost solid rain, it does not rain in the catchment areas. Why not build a catchment in an area with high rainfall?

I think we should be on stage three all summer regardless of how much water the bores have. It's only when they get low that everyone panics and bumps the restrictions up but if we can all manage on stage three then why can't we be there all Summer. We are on stage one but if we conserve the water now then we will have more later on instead of panicking. But our town is on stage one because our bore is full but it wont be for long.

Relax. The rains are coming.
The Todd River in Alice Springs is already in flood.
