Naomi Campbell attacked her maid by chucking a mobile phone at her. Obviously, her maid was of different race to her. Could we say that the attack was racially motivated or does it only work the other way around? You can say that Naomi was just throwing a hissy-fit and that she's a moron etc. but why can't the same rule apply to Jade? Jade just hates any 'stuck up cow' to quote her words, irrespective of race, age, or nationality. In fact, if the Indian girl was a chav like herself, then I'm sure they would have been best buddies. So my question is, why can't we say that Naomi Campbell is racist as she attacked a woman of a different race while we can say it about Jade? And by the way, I'm sure that Naomi has insulted her hispanic maid by saying very racist comments, because a woman with a temper like that cannot withold her insulting words.

I can't comment on Jade Goody, I have only just heard of her on the news.

The case of Naomi Campbell's maid was appalling. These people who work as maids, often have no means of escape from the abuse they suffer; and are at the mercy of their employers.
Quite often they are too frightened to complain, because if the case is investigated they take a beating. I am not saying this is what happens in Naomi Campbell's household, only the maid can tell us that. It is a sad fact it happens elsewhere...

Is it racialism? yes it is, also, it's taking advantage of someone who is less fortunate than you are. This a vulnerable person is trying hard to support a family, and made more vulnerable by the employers behaviour.

It's unforgivable.

I am sorry I've gone off track a bit in answer to your question, nasty habit of mine.

It's a good question though!

I dont know anything about the BB or Jade situation but no I dont think the Naomi Campbell attack was racist. I think Naomi Campbell has alot of issues about her celebrity and she thinks that everyone who is not in her circle is an underling to be used and abused. She needs to be pulled down a few notches and the way to do that is to not buy any product that she endores and to write to the magazines and designers that she poses for and tell them that until she gets her act together you will no longer buy their product or read their magazines. But racism, no.

The general public 'created' these monstrosities.....racism is inherant and integral in our society, yet we show abhorence when it surfaces(?)
Perhaps we are now becoming the racists and bullies by singling out individuals, lets not get carried away!
We are not a united world, there are wars being waged even now, so lets not become total hypocrites and villify individuals who react against others. Surely War is racism and bullying on a much wider scale?
I accept that there are certain things in life that cannot be changed; racism is only one of many.

No I don't think so - Jade has made a point of refusing to understand Shilpa's background etc therefore highlighting their racial differences.

HOWEVER - I always wondered why Lauren Hill (who has a diatribe on one of her albums about hating white people) and Will Smith (lyrics on 'just the two of us' go "Now the white people they're gonna treat you bad, gonna make you mad..." have never been accused of racism. Afterall - it took years till someone decided to shut Abu Hamsa up. Some forms of racism appear more acceptable than others....

well i think your question is a bit stupid cos if you watch it you can tell it is not just about not liking stuck up people. if it is just the fact that she doesnt like "stuck up peopl" then why does she constantly bring race into it by calling her "the Indian" or by calling her Shilpa Poppodum or whatever it was. So really, unless you are as thick as jade herself, i think it is quite obvious

if you make nasty comments about a persons race, it could just be to upset them not because you hate their race, like calling someone a fat cow doesnt nessacarily mean you hate fat people or her for being fat, you just find a raw nerve and poke it.
