She may just not be able to easily share things. Another option is that she may be very secretive. I have a friend who is very secretive about everything. Friends do not have to tell each other everything (some of us are a little more private) but people who are completely secretive want a one-way friendship. In my opinion, it makes them feel superior.

She's got what they call "a good ear". Your life seems more interesting to her than sharing hers at the moment. I find people who go on-and-on about themselves bloody boring, unless I asked them to. So, in this situation ask her, to "explain what you mean", if you want more information than she offered. I can relate to her, because I am a shy person, and it's funny, just the other day a ran into a friend I use to date for 5yrs., something came up, and they said..."so that's why you were like that."
Most of all it's called Trust! She'll warm up after that's established.

I agree it comes down to trust! Maybe she is not on a level in the relationship where she feels at ease to tell you or it might be a dark history. Also dont ask questions you dont actually want to hear the answer too! Lastly be careful what 'deep' secrets you share of your past....with experiance I found it sometimes come back & stab you in the back! Leave the past to a certain degree & live today like there's no tomorrow! GOOD LUCK

Have patience & try to understand her. I'm sure she has a very good reason to refuse to share with you her life. Show her that you are trustworthy, that you're willing to accept whatever she's hiding, if ever there's any. Don't push her too hard. Try to give her time to realize what a real, good friend you are.

She probably had something negative happen to her. She's probing you with questions to see if you have anything in common. Respect her silence. She'll open up once she gets to know you better. If she says something negative about her life, don't be judgmental or verbally "beat her up". Just be her friend and things will improve with time.

maybe she doesn't wanna be friends?
prove to her you are a real friend, then she will definitely open up
how to prove? hang out with her more, give it a little more time, i had the same thing happen to me, it's working out now, making her laugh is number one
don't force it
and if she's asking a lot about ur life, then shes interested

She might be afraid that you might judge from her past and present. Or maybe she is trying to find about you first so she could become more comfortable telling you more about her past and present. Sometimes it hard to tell secrets because people tend to be back stabers. If she is your friend you should tell her how you feel.

Stop answering questions about your life. Tell her that you wont answer anymore questions until she start sharing herself with you. Tell her she can ask a question only if you can in return.

She just doesn't trust you enough. Try to open her up by telling her something deep and sayingsomething like, "That was my biggest secret. I've never told anyone but you, because I trust you."
