Can they really not hear how bad they are? And why do the really bad ones always think Simon will love them? He hates everyone.

Lol. Many people think Simon will like them because they think they are 'original' and that they are 'fabulous!' and no-one can put them down because nothing can get in their way. Well it can happen, as you have seen lots of people go in confident and come out crying.
Another one of your points 'can they really not hear how bad they are?' I personally would not audition, without asking my family and friends opinion first and unfortunatley many family members will say yeah your great when they are really thinking :S !! I think that the show asks people to audition and do badly for the shows rating, otherwise talented people would get boring. ( I mean we all enjoy watching a good tantrum now and then ! =] )

Simon is a jerk, I really want to say, who is he to judge and embarrass people, I think he should stand in front of a mirror and look at himself. That T-shirt he had on was dirty on 1/17/2007. I am trying to figure out the talent myself. Someone has to tell them they sound good, and obviously they believe it. That show is funny though. What I am trying to figure out, after the show and they see themselves on tape how do they feel then, are they pleased with their audition or embarrassed, go figure.

People think they're gorgeous but once they see a photo of them self and see how the world sees them they want to just tear up the "evidence" people think highly of them selves and are very blind to their own flaws

i think its because they always show the bad people at the auditions who think they are really good because it makes "good tv" and people laugh at them
so obviously (most of) these people know theyre really bad, they just go on there to get on tv and be famous for about 1 second

everyone can sing just some people cannot sing well.
their friends and family are probably just being nice to them and say that they can sing well when truthfully....they cannot.
And I'm sure Simon Cowell doesn't hate EVERYONE otherwise he wouldn't be where he is now :)
