Heres one for all the do gooders out there, i have watched big brother since the racism stuff started, and would like to say i have seen nothing racist, ive seen an intelligent and sophisticated Indian women and an unintelligent English Idiot, not getting along, i have heard the English one laughing at the others ones accent, still no racism, i am from Birmingham and if i had a £ for every time someone took the p*ss out of my accent i would be a millionaire.
The only racist remark i have heard was from Jackson, who said White Trash, where is the uproar about that? wheres all the Asian groups saying its terrible and shouldn't be allowed? One rule for some and another rule for others comes to mind. I wonder if a white mp will mention that in the house, i think not, because we cannot upset the minorities can we!! thats all except to say i am not racist, i am just making a point.

To Dan E, what a load of crap you spout, so if i saw you in the street and i called you black trash, you wouldnt think that was racist?!! get real, also racism works both ways, not just against Asians and blacks, but the majority of whites do not complain, as they would be totally ignored, and probably called racist for mentioning it. i think you should stop in fairy land, where you obviously live.

You are 100% right! racial abuse and racism are actually two different things, what is going on in that house (from what I've heard, I've never actually watched it) is that there is simply three very jeleous women bitching about another, it's what woman do, hate to say it, but it's true. I think the way they are doing it by attacking her race and culture is appauling but it's nothing to do with Jade and the others being racist. I don't actually see why on earth people are so hyped over something Jade Goody is saying anyway, why take it seriously, this is a woman who thought East Anglia was another country, she's a complete idiot, we all know this, so why the hell is such a fuss being made about it all?
As for your comment on racism going both ways, you're so right. I do not understand why we are so scared of being seen as being racist, I mean, I hate Jade and would never in a million years dream of bullying someone, racially or not, like her; but why isn't it a two way street? I personally find things like the MOBO awards offencive, not because it's wrong, but because if there were awards just for music of white origan, there would be hell to pay.
I think the entire BB thing is so ridiculous, some BB manager is laughing there head off on the way to the bank right now, I don't believe for a second that any of these girls will be kicked out of the house tonight, no way will channel 4 let that happen, all those extra viewers tuning in each night to watch the scandle, this may ruin Jade and her little friends but this is the best thing that has ever happened for BB

Aren't you being a bit "do goodersist"? Why is "white trash" racist?

I haven't seen any of the programme, but it seems to me you could talk about white trash and black trash without having to be racist. I would say the Jackson remarks were displaying class prejudice, rather than race prejudice.

I don't think Jackson's remarks were outrightly racist, and that is similar to the remarks I have seen news in the other direction. I would say personally, the remarks by the blonde haired woman and the other woman against the Asian appeared to be ignorant and prejudiced, but I wouldn't say they were racist.

by the way, you would probably consider me a "do gooder". And so your assumption that all "do gooders" would consider this racist could be considered prejudiced.

Lastley,I also think the idea that white people are being persecuted by MPs afraid of upsetting minorities is paranoia, and not borne out when one takes a look at the Daily Mail led media and institutional barrage against "foreigners". But I suppose my opinion will not count because it will just be written off, censored, as the opinion of "do gooders" or politically correctness gawn mad. :-D

You are right! The MP brought this up in Parliament to raise his own profile (stinks of positive racism on his part!) If people are being racist then kick them out of the house (whoever it is!) Racism travels in all directions in this country, I have friends from ethnic minorities who agree that it's not just white British that are racist, they see and hear it every day from all groups! Most of the MP's or Councillors who use racism as a political tool have probably never really lived in the real world and are detached from the average person in the street so they don't know what's going on, just like when they oppose longer opening hours for pubs, they thought that there would be more people falling over in the street and fights on every street corner every 5 minutes.

I blame Channel 4 for editing the programme and showing only the small details that they knew would cause the greatest uproar. The racism thing I think has been blown all out of proportion. If Shilpa or Jermaine had said something like this to one of the white housemates would this have been picked up? I don't think so. As usual the whites are racist and not the blacks or coloured. Mr Blair and Mr Bush have a hellish lot to answer for.

Personally I do feel they are being racist, I have also watched it from the start and think their behaviour is appalling and more than ignorant, they are like a pack of vultures circling for the kill, I hope their careers all end after this embarrassing fiasco. Jade is the instigator with the other two following along like sheep, they are vile filth. I am white and British and am ashamed of the way they have treated Shilpa. As for Jermaine Jackson's comment, well I think we can all agree that Jade and her family are white trash, I will stand by that remark and agree with it, I would have said it myself had I been there. He was speaking the truth, no one can deny that the Goody family are trash, and the sooner they are all out and back in the gutter where they came from the better.

Very good argument. Does Experian Agent honestly think channel 4 would inform the media that there unbroadcast racist remarks! He should grow up and not always believe the media. There is a lot of bullying (which is awful) but no real racism on Big Brother, the world has gone mad. White people have to be very careful what they say in this country. We are the new minority group.

Whoever the Goody family are they have done themselves no good. Good, decent people do not behave like that. It is clearly a matter of class. The Goody's have little whereas the lovely Indian Lady is sweet and charming and has plenty. She has clearly shown how truly wonderful the Indian people are and it is a great pity that people like the Goody family can't seem to grasp the need to be graceful, well spoken and well mannered.
I wonder if the Goody's gobble curry because that also comes from India.

The constant barrage of vile abuse which Miss Shetty has been subjected to borders on or is racism.

Last night Jade commented that Shilpa should go back to her own communty also some comment about living in the slums.

How offensive does it have to be before it is called rascist, I am a Brummie, like the original poster, I too get jokes about my accent. This is insignificant compared to the sort of abuse Shilpa has been getting.

When will the news stations realise if we want to know what is going on in 'the house' we will watch it, so don't shove it down our throats?
From what I have gleaned about the situation the Indian lady is famous in her own right, beautiful, intelligent and wealthy, I think it is probably jealousy at work not racism. Lets face it her detractors are neither the fairest, nor brightest of individuals.

First i will state, that I do not condone racism in any form or matter

'bcfcjjw', I am not sure that you are educated enough on the subject matter.

If youve only been watching the show since the racism issue has come to play. Then you have missed alot of comments made
against shilpa.

No one is stating that "all" the bullying, subjected towards shilpa is racist.

So far, jade has not made a racist comment to my knowledge.
She is just good at covering up what she really wants to say.

However.....

Jack, Danielle, Jo, (excuse my frankness) are BLATENT closet racists.

Jack for some reason is being covered up by channel 4.

He was censored by them when he made a racist outburst,
Calling shilpa a "******* paki".

Now you come across other closet racists on the outside world, who say..."well..you never actually hear jack say 'paki' cuss its censored."

These people are in racist denial.

I agree with resistancemp3. The phrase "white trash" is used by white people, mostly anyway.

Its used for uneducated, low life, chavs, who live off the government.

I know black people who can easily be slated as being "white trash", or "black trash".

I AM BLACK. If i heard a white man call a low life black man "Black trash" i would not be racially offended!!!!!

I guess you think the phrase "chav" is racist as well?

Black trash, white trash, who cares, these are low life people who in my opinion deserve the titles their given, if they fit the description.

But to INSULT an entire Race is another matter all together.

I have alot more to say, and i know ive missed out vital points, but to be honest im tired of explaining this matter to english people. Because its only them who seem to say, either

"Its not racist!!"

and..."Jermaine said white trash".

..oh and my favourite..... "ENGLISH people take the mick out of my ENGLISH (Birmingham) Accent. why aint that considered racism!!"

people take the mick out of cockney, liverpudlian, white slang, black slang.... these are just accents. And British accents at that.

you feel this is as bad as insulting an entire country, culture, race?? that they obviously no nothing about??!!

And considering the past history of racist attacks on black and Asians in England. You still cannot empathise??
