I'd like to nominate Australian Rules football... The game is not popular throughout Australia and lot of footy fans are narrow-minded and one-eyed. It takes so long to develop the skills in requiring to play the game.

Poker. It's not even a sport, and they always show it on the Sports Channel.

All the "x games" crap, and junk like gymnastics.
Real sports are decided in three ways:
1. Measurement (time, weight, distance, etc.)
2. Scoring (points, runs, goals, etc.)
3. Achieving objectives (knockouts, pins, submissions, etc.)
Anything decided by judges sucks. Yes, there are judges in weightlifting, but they only decide if the lift is legal, not who's better. There are referees and umpires in team sports, but they enforce rules. The officials should facilitate the sport, not decide who wins.
Anything that is more style than substance is a waste of my time.

Basketball.
It doesn't take much athletic skill for a 7'2" center or a 6'8" forward to jam a ball into a basket at a height of 10'. Raise the height a foot and lets see how good these players are.

American football. Ask any New Zealander or Australian. Rugby is considered a much rougher sport. No pads, no special teams, continuous play.

Its definitely soccer... no other game has ever witnessed an audience of crowd in the range of 20-50 lakhs people.. it is rated as the best sport by BBC in the year 2002 & 2006, and rated by TIMES magazine in the year 2002 & 2006 .
