Holland is two provinces within Holland. (Those living in the other provinces are technically not Hollanders)
Dutch is what the English speaking people from the world call those living in the Netherlands.

They are basically the same. Actually Holland is a part or province of the Netherlands and the people there are called
Dutch and they speak the Dutch language.

Everyone who lives outside of the Netherlands thinks they're all the same thing, but I'm sure my Dutch friend would think differently...

I believe Holland is actually a region of the Netherlands, but its usually thought of as the actual country. Of course, Dutch is the language... no-one speaks Hollandaise (or Netherlandish for that matter... =P)

Netherlands is the name of the country. Holland is a county in the country. Dutch is what we call the people. I don't know what they prefer to be called.

The French call it 'Les Pays Bas' (The Low Country) quite descriptive really - and they have plumbers too!!

Just one and the same, they just can`t decide what to call themselves,they had best look sharp though if sea level rises any more,they won`t have a country left to name.They will be called European Refugee`s.....PS make sure you are well up on your plumbing skills, they can`t afford any more leaks.
