The thing that drew me to this question was your use of the word colored.I said to myself "Here goes another racist looking for new Klan members to email and recruit".Then when I saw your avatar I couldnt believe my eyes.I Expect that word from an "old school" white person like over 60 who was raised separatly from black people/african american, but my own kind! You sound like you been teleported here from the early 1960's.I hope Obama does win now because if we got our own people calling us "colored" were gonna need someone in a position to show the world were just as capable as anyone else, not no ignorant"colored" as you seem to be.Please dont ever use that word again. It is so deep rooted in racism that its use should be illegal.

The USA voters has many opinions about who they want as their President and therefore, different groups wants different things from their candidates. All any candidate can hope for is that the people will support them for the way they want to handle the issues that the country is facing.
Obama has to face the people just as any other candidate. Each will present their messages. However, they will all be judged on race, on creed, on background, on skin color etc.and even on gender. It's unfair but that's what all candidates open up themselves too when they run for public offices.
I don't know if they will like Odama, it is to early to tell. He have to have a great message that will be supportive by the majority of the people and we have to look deeper than skin color etc. when voting for our President.
Hope this help Good luck.

A colored man belongs to the human species. Would the USA dislike having a human for President if he can do the job, I wonder? And, awwwww, the same question would apply to a white lady, by the way.

lt would be a wonderful, historic moment when the first black president is inaugurated. But right now he would have the thinnest CV of any president, along with Bush. No doubt he is a lot smarter than Bush - and hasn't benefitted from a famous father - but surely we've seen that inexperience is a handicap in managing this awesome responsibility. I think it should be Obama in 2012 or 2016.

The first in anything is always the hardest for society to accept. After
that it will be like "Oh, wow, New Mexico or Florida has an Hispanic governor!" Once a big deal but not anymore.
Yeah, let's get on with it. If Obama and Hillary team up, you may think everything they do will reflect how long it will be before we elect another minority. But during their term society will change so much so fast we will forget in a few years their hasn't always been this diversity.

I think it is wonderful. He is a very knowledgeable person, and I think he would make a great president. Just what this country needs. His ideas are great. The perfect team for president and vice president, in my opinion, is Obama and Hillary Clinton, and if they run as a team, they will get my vote. If Obama runs with another person, will still get my vote.

Indifferent.

But I have two issues that concern me.

Why is the color of people's skin suddenly so important now that Obama is running?

Are people that vote against Obama going to be labeled racist, regardless of why they voted against him?

Rhythm has a couple of good points in his answer.

The US will appreciate a competent man, regardless of color.
