It's hard to say what would be good for you since I don't know you at all but I've personally designed a few tattoos for friends of mine and I think it worked well since I had a good relationship with all of them. If you're lucky enough to be good friends with a good artist (or good tattoo artist) I would ask them first.

But just some key things to think about while you're making your decision, try to really find a design that WILL reflect who you are rather than getting caught up in the cool aesthetics of a design. Try to imagine explaining your design to someone 5, 10, 15 years from now and see if you can honestly be proud to explain every aspect of it in those contexts. If not, don't kid yourself and really take your time with the design.

My design on my back took about 3-4 years to perfect and so far, I'm still proud of it. It's been 5 years ;).

If you must get a tattoo, why not try some big Chinese characters. Make sure beforehand that it is what you want to say, and that it is understandable to an expert in that language. often times, the guys who work in the parlor don't know what they are talking about, but they mean well. They just pull one out of the dictionary. But that isn't good enough for the Chinese speaker.

If you've crossed the Atlantic, get the anchor,
If you've been to the Cape horn, get a full-rigged ship,
If you've been to the far East, esp. China, get a dragon.
If you just want it, get a mermaid.

Dr. James Naismith, or a peach basket with the backside reduce out, or might be the fashioned thirteen regulations. I love basketball too however I spotted that any basketball similar tattoo finally ends up watching dated or simply simple dumb inside two-three years of getting it completely placed on ones frame. I could say when you get an suggestion that you just relatively like, have a t-blouse made. If the blouse remains to be vital and significant to you in two years, then make it everlasting.
