Clinton's popularity as a former President is currently higher than Bush's as a current President. Clinton made a mistake but he runs rings around Bush in intelligence and understanding of the real world. Clinton wasn't raised a rich, spoiled brat like Bush was.

I don't think a man cheating on his wife compares with 1) the killing of thousands of our troops. 2) declaring a war that has yet to solve the problem it was supposed to, especially when the war has been in effect for five years. We are still no closer to getting those responsible for Sept. 11 . 3) The country's debt has reached a record high, and still climbing. 4) He lied to the people of this country about the war, among other things and 5) He hasn't admitted that it was his incompetence that has made this terrible situation worse . Clinton's affair doesn't even come close

Repubicans and the Religious Right used the sexual activity of Clinton as there tool for impeachment. From day one they would do all in there power to destroy Clinton.
Vote for Clinton in both elections I was upset with his actions but his actions did not lead us to war. Today the same crowd that attacked Clinton now give praise to Bush for war in Iraq and death of some 3000 Americans.

Being in a public office, Clinton should have known that an affair could become public and could affect his image. However, I believe that what Clinton did is something between Bill & Hillary, and NOT Congress or the American public. He'll face that issue when he arrives at home in the evening, but his affair is in no way related, as far as job-wise, to his position.
Bush has one something which completely pertains to his job, and has failed at it. He has to answer to the American people, because his decisions directly affects the public.

This is an inequitable comparison. Mr. Clinton's crimes (yes crimes, he did commit perjury no matter how much many Democrats wish to ignore the fact) are not in question. The mistakes of Mr. Bush as you perceive them do not equate to crimes and are just a matter of your own perception which may or may not be shared by others, but still hold no force of law as the President has not been charged with committing any crime. Mr. Clinton damaged the credibility of the presidency by his actions and yes this does damage the nation. The fact that people like yourself cannot properly hold Mr. Clinton accountable for committing crimes and violating your trust while trying to do the exact opposite with Mr. Bush in the lack of proper due process shows the depth of your partisanship and proves adequately that you are not really concerned with the nation, but only with retribution for those you find lacking while protecting others you do not.

Clinton's affair was nothing more than an embarrassment. His perjury was worse, but still not much more serious.
I'm at a loss to figure out what mistakes you're talking about with Bush, though. He has pretty much made the correct decisions at every turn with only a few exceptions in my mind:
He should never have given up on social security reform
He should have done something about the southern border as early as 9-11. The national guard on the border would have been accepted at that time and perfectly logical. It would also have afforded them some training for the coming storm.

Bush's mistakes have cost billions, some say 1.2 trillion dollars. Bush has gotten many, many, many people killed and their are still more to die. Bush's mistakes have turned the world against us,has created more terrorists., have hurt the enviroment. I guess it has enriched a small group of his friends, but for the most part been a disaster to America.
Clinton had a sexual dalliance and lied about it.
At the end of the day count which has cost more.

His impeachment was definitely harmful as it was purely political rather than based on criminal conduct. We'll be paying for Bush's mistakes for the next century at this rate.

The trouble goes back to Nixon and Watergate, a minor burglary that the Dems exploited and as a result we are still a highly polarized nation. After Nixon's resignation the Reps persistently tried to get back at the Dems. Wategate did the damage.
