Why does U.S.A. society find female homosexuality ok, but it scoffs at male homosexuality?

Purchase or rent any "straight" pornographic media and more often than not you find a scene or two that features two women together, but not men.

Two men kissing is common in some cultures and it's very popular in the entertainment industry (it doesn't mean the guy is gay), however it's obvious that for the most part, it's not accepted in the United States

In the United States if two women kiss each other on the lips or cheek, a person doesn't think anything of it, but if they see two guys kiss quickly on the cheeks or lips, it sounds fire alarms. Ridiculous...

Well, the porn industry is driven by sales to mostly straight males. Even though females watch it sometimes, it's more of a male thing. As you know males find it a turn on to view two women together, and that's why it's on the films. Women if watching do in some cases find it gross to see two women but they are mainly watching it with and for their husband or man so they don't feel responsible for it or part of it. If a straight man bought a porn and found two men on it, he would be grossed out and it would set off his defense that he is not gay and never wanted to see that stuff and that video if advertised wouldn't sell to the porn buying audience; mostly straight males. Gay males are a minority in the world and the porn industry realizes this= so your answer, is, it's all about money.

Because in America, in men, homosexuality is looked at as irreversible. That once a man has sex with a man, that is it, he is just gay, there is no going back from that. It is not looked at the same way in a woman's case. Society views women's homosexuality as something that is reversible. Part of it is heterosexual men's fantasies of having sex with two women, that women are only doing it because they can't find a man they desire at that time and the other part of it is that subconsciously, many men believe that there is no possible way that there are women that don't desire men and believe they can change gay women's orientation.

I think that it is men who purchase or rent porno more so than women. Men love a girl action one on one. They are threatened by male homosexuality for some reason. I don't get it either. If they are comfortable with themselves why would homosexuality be a big deal?

Being a female in the USA I know what you mean. It's men who think 2 females is normal and acceptable. They actually believe all females are either willing to be w/ another female or find it just as hot as they do. It's wishful thinking on their part that's all.

It's MAN'S society so to speak and men prefer not to see gay men. If they did it would threaten their sexuality to others. BUT, checking out gay women is considered a manly thing to do. Women don't have that masculine testosterone fueled image so they can freely watch gay women and men productions without fear of recourse.
