Homophbia is a personal thing in the sense of when is someone being genuinely homophobic, rather than just disagreeing with your opinion or saying something you find offensive. It is something that is difficult and sometimes uncomfortable to accurately record!
The Rockway institue in the states does research into homophobia and gay issues.
It turns out that the more you believe homosexuality is innate, the more accepting you are of gay rights. A full 79 percent of people who think human beings are born with a sexual orientation support gay rights, including civil unions or marriage equality. But only 22 percent of those who believe homosexuality is a choice agree - The Boston Globe Op Ed
In the UK CHAPS have sponsered some research into it by institutions such as sigma research
The Equlities review - look at homophobia in schools, etc
There are no definitive figures because homophobia does not have a agreed solid definition and my experience of research I have read or come accross is that it is specific either in age group, focus or range therefore not fully answering your question.

I doubt there are any facts and figures on this. It is sad that there are still some narrow minded idiots out there that are homophobic, there are also the sheep that don't think either way but join the crowd they are in. Sadly it seems that there is discrimination against anything that is see as outside a norm, sometimes people just cant see there the wood for the trees. I would have thought gathering statistic data on this accurately would be near on impossible, people would not answer correctly and honestly.

There are 4 or 5 people in Oldham 12 in Carlisle and 10 Million in London and Brighton who are not Homophobic, so about 63 Million give or take a million are homophobic.

Quite alot of people are homophobic, including me. It's just something that I don't agree with because of my upbringing and religion.

Please don't call George Michael a ****** in that way, and don't comapre him to that ****** called Elton John, he's nasty.- George Michael is great.
And although I would class myself as homophobic I hate it when people start saying bad things about George Michael.

Don't know does homophobic mean actually want to kill gay people or just not agreeing with it? I just don't agree with it, I don't like it. Most conservative people don't like it (No not the Tory party we all know no one holds more gays that them!), actually it's more likely its the Conservatives that hide it and are gay.

Hopefully less and less as we become more tolerant. Its generally a tribal thing due to overhype of peoples inexperience to deal with the fact we are all bi-sexual but just scared to admit it, even if it was just a thought because of the jibes that we would receive.

Too many!!

You won't get a proper answer though, i don't think actual figures will be available.
The police will have figures on homophobic's who commit crimes against gay people though, i would imagine.

There's loads. I don't think you're likely to get facts and figures, its not the sort of data that gets recorded.
