I'm african american not mixed with anything, and you may think that my culture is Black Culture. But the way I see it black culture is presented as hip hop, gangsta, make money, be a loser, be superficial blah blah. I absolutly refuse to accept that as my culture. Now I'm not some black person who grow up in a white neighborhood, I grew up in ghetto *** Tampa. So I have no culture to go with. Not African culture, one not knowing what tribe or whatever my family is from and two, I don't know if you know but a lot of Africans, especially ones from war torn places, don't like African Americans at all. I'm pretty sure they would murder me if I went there claiming to be one of them. American culture? Hot dogs and sh*t? MTV? Losing wars? Yeah I'll pass. I'm not angry but should I be? Should I worry about this, or am I over exagerrating? If your Chinese an people don't like you over here, so what? In China your the sh*t, or at least you fit in. I dunno maybe I misunderstand culture?

Learn about the good parts of your culture. You have a culture and, in every culture there are good and bad.

You listed many bad things... what about the good?

What about Tiger Woods or Colin Powell? What about Martin Luther King Jr? Look up Black inventors, writers, and scholars. Go listen to some Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald and, the Great Billie Holliday. I am not Black so I cannot list them off but I am certain there are plenty of sources.

Just start talking to people who know what they are talking about regarding Black culture (I am not one of them).

were you the bad seed in your family, or were you the good seed in a bad family. culture is merely environment you grew up in.

your parents may have been poor, but did they just sit around and mope about it or did they struggle to try and get out of that environment. did they not care about their children. did you have no uncles, aunts or grandparents that had a will to live, or were they all just "poor me babies"

If this is the case i hope you can put the "poor me baby" mentallity behind you and stuggle to be the best you can be at whatever you do. then you will become a part of the hard working american culture, which is what built this country in the first place.

You want to be stereotyped? Why don't you just be who you are and be confident in that. I need to tell you that it's very disappointing to read the racist generalization that you used to describe the African Americans. If you are on this forum you know about the constant racism and demeaning attacks that happen against us every minute of every day and here you feed the same kind of rhetoric. We all have free will and are NOT molded by peoples concepts of who we are so please in the future don't put your ethnic background in the smut pot like those racist, hateful people who use this as their machine to diminish our heritage.

Perhaps you can search for things you like and admire in other cultures and apply them to your life and make them your own.
