Connect your new hard drive as slave. See the jumper settings on the hard drive. Check in BIOS whether it has detected new hard drive or not. Download the software Partition Magic from ineternet and install.Create the partition using the software. There are several other soft available on net. Just google.

There is a ''master/slave'' setting at the back of your hard drive,check if the old hard drive is set to master,if that is the case set the new hard drive to slave.At the back of your hard drive you will see a kind of plastic stuff known as jumper,you will have to set it.If your hard drive is not a( SATA)you will need to connect the IDE ribborn cable - make sure the red stride correspond to pin one at the back of your hard drive.
The manual documentation that came with your hard drive will instruct you on what to do.Please do not ignore the instruction because it is vital to a proper installation

try checking with the hard drive makers site
I could tell ya but you did'nt include much info, do ya mean as a main drive or as a slave
