Aaargh! I'm currently walking around with wet socks and my skin feels like it's burning up. My fiance is laughing his butt off! I just found out I'm pregnant and yes we are very happy! But what's the deal? Are these crazy hot periods a symptom and how long til they stop. My skin doesn't feel hot to touch, says my partner but to me, omg, I'm going nuts! (i'm also quitting smoking I"ve quit today as I just found out yesterday, I did sneak one tonight to prevent killing somebody though!)

Yes, this is a symptom of pregnancy. You hormone levels have increased and this could be causing your symptoms. However, it can also be a sign of nicotine withdrawal. I don't know how much you usually smoke, but whenever my husband has quit he gets really sick. After he experiences the nicotine withdrawal he gets the flu and a very high fever and can't get out of bed for 2 days. You might also be getting the flu. I would just get some extra rest if I were you and hopefully you'll feel better tomorrow. Congratulations on you pregnancy and good luck with quitting smoking.

When you get pregnant your Harmon's go amok. This also happens in puberty, pregnancy and when you get around 40. Your body chemistry changes. This is the beginning. Just take cool showers, drink cool drinks (that have no caffeine) and get garments that can easily come on and off. You'll be in style. You'll have the layered look. and email me as time goes on and you have other symptoms that go with the territory. Just try to relax. Don't stress and enjoy the good things that pregnancy brings. Like great nails and hair. Your complexion and hopefully the pampering from your mate, family & friends. Don't forget to love your baby before it's born and don't smoke. But by all means read...Do the research. My first book was Imaculate Deception by Suzan Arms. The Laboyie methode. Birth without violence. There are many good books out there. Do the research. Don't rely on your doctor to tell you everything. Learn for yourself. It's a big responsibility.

Increase your water intake and try not to over exert yourself.

Please DO NOT SMOKE your baby could become addicted to the nicotine. Also it could effect the size of the baby and it's brain development.

If you care about yourself and this baby you will stop smoking and start eating chocolate instead!! lol

Qutting smoking can cause hot flashes also. To do both at the same time, you are a brave woman.

Good luck on the quitting and congrats on the baby.
