Do i need to give IELTS examination for Specialist training programme in the UK even though i have passed PLAB

I have passed plab 2 in 2004 which is valid for 3 years. Now i am applying for ST programme which is for medical doctors. I gave my IELTS in 2003. The requirment for ST programme is that IELTS should be valid i.e.should be less than 2 years. My question is that am i eligible to apply since i have one year to aply as far as plab 2 is concerned. Anybody from UK knows about this please help.
