It's also dangerous if you do happen to break the skin (if you do, then you're doing it wrong but that's beside the point)
You don't want to be swapping bodily fluids with someone unless they are a permanent long-term partner. If you break the skin and the other person bleeds, if you have a cut or a cold sore or anything, the blood could theoretically enter your blood stream.
It's a tiny risk but what if they are HIV+?
I do remember lovebites being a really common thing when I was a teenager, but now I'm older I don't like them at all!

Love bites are effectively under skin hemorrhages caused by the sucking motion. The sucking causes the blood to leak out of the vein or artery into the surrounding tissue. Some medical researchers have concluded that this can cause cancers to occur in some people. Generally as you know it appears as a bruise like mark. The skin above the blood can become less oxygenated and slough off leaving a necrotic (or dead area).
It is inadvisable to indulge in this rather possessive marking of a partner as it makes you look desperate, possessive and without any class.

I believe it can be dangerous on certain parts of the body. Probably not a good idea on itimate parts like boobs or willie!

We've all done it at some time, but visible love bites look completely tacky! I always feel someone with them is saying 'Look at me, i had sex last night!'

Yeah it all depends where. If you're planning to bite your guys privates then it surely is dangerous.

dangerous for whom? of course it's not dangerous to give someone a lovebite (unless it's without permission-they may belt you!) Nor is it dangerous to receive one,it's just a bruise basically.

It is safe, as long as you don't bite too hard on the wrong place.
