Whether we survive or not if all cows die depends on what the cows died of. If it were by a fatal disease that cannot be transmitted to humans, then we have a good chance of surviving.

If they died of a worldwide catastrophe--like a giant meteor slamming into our planet--then all bets are off as to whether we would survive when all the cows didn't.

If all cows died, we could get along quite well without them--thanks to the wonderful soy bean which can be made in to everything a cow supplies--soy milk, soy ice cream, soy cheese, and all kinds of products that look like every form of beef you can imagine. And I must say that the soy products are so real that it is almost impossible to tell the difference between then and cow products.

The human race existed long before humans figured out what to do with cows, and can surely survive without them. And the vast amount of grain cultivation needed to feed a cow to produce just a measly pound of meat could be turned in to producing gasahol and other products, making for a more healthy environment.

Since there are no cows in Alaska, and Eskimos have survived there for at least a hundred years (presumably). Then I see good reason to believe we can survive without cows. Especially, in regions of the world where people are not surrounded by snow & ice, and agricultural industries can flourish.

It's perfectly possible to live without cows. Many cultures in the world do so. For example, most Asians can not digest milk products easily, so they survive without cheese, milk and butter. Vegetarians live without eating beef, and I personally haven't any beef since mad cow disease came on the scene about ten years ago.

A lot of Hindus survive without eating beef.
We would find an alternative source of milk, such as goat and sheep. It would be initially expensive, but it would need to be done. Either that or breastfeeding could be extended until the kids started school.
Adults do not need milk, especially cows milk.

We could survive without cow's milk, beef, and cow leather, but I'm a little worried we would die from whatever killed off all the cows...

We would have cleaner air, they produce a lot of gas. At one time we did not depend on cows. They where just convenient and economic for mass food supplies. You put in grass and they produce milk or grow fast to feed a lot from one cow. Plus their skin was used for everything. In theory we hunted the wholly mammoth to extinction but we survived.

yes, because there isnt any reason for us to die as we could get milk from other animals too like buffaloes etc.So we aren't going to die if all the cows die.but yes we might have to face some problems like fatness, etc.

this question is almost as dumb as the answers. our existance is not hinged on the bovine's existance. Millions, maybe hundreds of millions of people live healthy lives without ever consuming any "cow" product. OMG i just went 5 whole days without eating beef or milk product, im gonna die! Have you ever heard of Vegetarians? Heck you dont even have to be a Vegetarian, you can still live without cows....

There are other animals that taste nearly as good as cows. The pork and poultry businesses are just as popular as the beef business.
