if you just had sex yesterday,NO your not pregnant but theres a chance you could end up pregnant.
It takes 10-14 days after sex to actually become pregnant so wait those 2 weeks then take a test!
Heard you can get your period when pregnant? FALSE! when you have your period that is the shedding of your urerine lining (cleaning and emptying out the uterus) When you are pregnant the zygote is implanted into that lining releasing hormones that stop your period. Since the zygote needs the uterine lining to live you cant have your period. like i said when you have your period your body is emptying the uterus(shedding the uterine lining) if you shed that lining then there is no zygote(baby) in there!
however you can bleed durring pregnancy. If you are there wont be any tissue in the blood. If you are bleeding go to the doctors or hospital asap.
SYMPTOMS-they dont mean anything. They can be brought on by you thinking you are pregnant or other medical conditions

TO Ms TK EYES -
I never said that you said she was 2 days pregnant. What Im trying to say is the week after your period is the 1st week of pregnancy even tho you technically are not pregnant yet. There is no zygote yet. The sperm still needs to fertalize the egg and then it becomes a zygote. Then that zygote will implant into the lining of the uterus. When it implants itself that is conception, now you are technically pregnant. Thats why i said you technically arnt pregnant those first two weeks because that is about how long it takes to actually happen.
But since that baby has implanted into the uterine lining you can not have your period seeing as how your period is the shedding of that lining. If that lining is shed then you are not longer pregnant.
How would you know what if this is my first pregnancy or not?
If you want to keep talking you can just email me.

AGAIN TO Ms TK EYES-
I realized we were saying the same thing too. With pregnancy tests you usually cant take it until you missed your period sometimes a few days befor because there isnt enough of that hormone to be dectected. You can test 10-14days after sex and get an accurate result because by then there is enough of the hormone that can be detected. its really long and can be difficult to explain seeing as were having trouble understanding each other...thats why i said id rather do this in email.
but for me and tons of other girls i know took a test around 10 days after sex and it came up neg then took another one 4 or 5 days later and got postitive and i still had a little over a week befor i was suposed to get my period.

Oh my god...I am reading all these answers and this poor girl must be confused as all heck. you can get pregnant without penetration. Sperm swims point blank. If a male was to ejaculation (the exit of sperm from the penis) on his hand for instance and then "finger" the vagina...you can get pregnant. Some woman do experience their periods while pregnant...weather you call it periods/menstrual cycle is just a word...yes they do mean different things. But most people without a PhD call it the same thing. The bottom line here is you need to educate yourself before experimenting and you need to be on some form of birth control until you are ready to have children. Do not trust that the guy will provide it, and do not trust that the guy won't do something silly to it. Men trap women also...trust only yourself...put it on yourself, and make sure you are doing it right. Sound scary...then don't do it...your not ready...point blank.

My friend actually went to a doctor two days later after having unprotected sex and took a blood test and found out she was pregnant; so I don't know where you think it takes 2 weeks to GET pregnant. So you don't have to wait 10-14 days, you shouldn't give them false information.
EDIT- I never said she was 2 days pregnant I said she tested 2 days after sex, I know that conception counts from the last time you had your period. She was around 3 weeks or 4 weeks if I remember right. I know a lot of information about this because i've had to test atleast 6 times and have had 3 blood tests done, you're still on your first baby and have had A test done and your not even giving out the correct information. You might think you are, but it's the wording.
"you guys do know that when you are "2weeks pregnant" you actually arnt pregnant yet. It goes by the date of your last period."
I also don't get what your saying with that, that makes no sense at all. For instance, say you have unprotected sex on January 18th, 2007 (today) and you concieve. Then that would make you 2 weeks pregnant as of today if you were on a 28 day schedule. Of course that wouldn't pick up on a hpt because you wouldn't have enough HCG in your system, so you would have to get it confirmed with a blood test. That's all that i'm saying, but what your saying makes no sense, the wording?
Edit x2- I get what you saying after reading it about 20 times on that last one. We're basically saying the same thing, you're just wording it differently. But I still don't believe you should have said to wait 10-14 days after sex to test, you just have to wait until your first missed period OR to just test 5 days BEFORE your missed period(varies from test to test). I just think that's better wording.

Sweetie,Unfortunately todays teens are amazingly uneducated about their bodies and the risks that are present when engaging in sexual intercourse.Parents, are afraid of putting the thought in their childrens heads. They assume if they speak to their teenagers about this topic that they will engage in it.If they are educated about their bodies, and the risks intercourse poses on them, they would think twice.Parents often sugar coat things, they make it seem not as bad as it is.Not trying to scare their children, but to merely educate them and make them understand that intercourse isnt as carefree as it may seem.If you are an adult and ready,it is nice.If you are not an adult, and you are not prepared for the life changing events that can be a result of intercourse then they should not be engaging in it.PERIOD.They pose risks of possibly contracting std's and even pregnancy as you mentioned, and those are life changing happenings. It isnt fun and games when something arises such as pregnancy and std's,then they begin to regret. They should start thinking, and using their minds, and learn to control their hormones. They are not dumb, they just fail to see the real risks instead of that few seconds of pleasure.Peer pressure is also a factor. There is so much more to life than sex,and they should really focus on school, being a kid because once its gone it doesnt come back.Good luck hun and Congratulations on your pregnancy.

You forgot to add that anytime you "nut" in your girlfriend you could get her pregnant and that the only guarantee you have is not having sex at all. Oh, and pre-*** can knock you up, too so pull and pray isn't a good method of birth control.
Thanks for the PSA.

ok, first of all, it does not take 10-14 days to become pregnant. it takes 24 hours. if you think you may be pregnant, you should wait until 5 days after you first skipped period, not 14 days after sex.
second, you CAN have your period when you are pregnant. although it is not common. up to 3 months after you are impregnated, actually
don't lecture these girls if you are uneducated!
