She has her PhD and has been teaching at the university for 5+ years. I've had her for 3 classes. Do you think graduate schools mind if a recommender is a full time or part time faculty member at the school?

While I think most graduate schools would prefer to hear from a tenured faculty member who knew you well (it isn't whether the person is part- or full-time that matters, but whether they are a tenure-track faculty member or not, which speaks to their knowledge of the full faculty role, not just teaching), most realize that many undergrads have gotten much of their education from part-time instructors and even from teaching assistants who don't have their Ph.D.s, depending upon where they are in school. I think you are better off having a letter from this woman than from someone who doesn't know you very well.

Not if the person is familiar with your work, and you feel she is a good reference.
