Nope! For every solution a new problem is created for which a solution is needed . . . and on and on it goes. Just look history.

The "Worst" problems of the world today are two fold: The first is War and the second is Energy. (1 We have to stop fighting and killing each other (2 We have to develop alternative means of energy outside of burning fossil-fuels Each problem is a tough nut to crack. Because there are special interest involved, who have "power": social, political & economic at stake. It will take the combined efforts of everybody on earth to bring an end to our present predicament. Especially when the "powers that be" try to justify and rationalize every war we fight! Well, here is what I say. It is all very well to do that just as long as one is not one of the people doing the dying. Further, when those wars are being fought over more fossil fuel to brn, it's beneath contempt and beyond redemption and serves no purpose to speculate on "how" to stop it all without a world-wide consensus that says, "ENOUGH! YOU WANT TO FIGHT A WAR, THEN PICK UP A WEAPON AND GO FIGHT. JUST LEAVE THE REST OF US OUT OF IT...PERIOD!" Also, one must know, that the people fighting have been doing so for so long, they have forgotten what the reasons are. The behavior is not likely to change over night. It's silly of us to think that they will do so.

I think the advances in technology are going to cause more problems than they cause. People are going to lose social skills because a computer will do everything for them. People are going to be less intellegent because no longer will they have to think out answers. Technology certainly will not solve war it will only provide bigger weapons. I could go on and on and on, but read 1984 and Brave New World.

they can't fix the human 'animal'. so long as he likes to kill his brothers we don't stand a chance at all. it is only a matter of time.
there must be a change in mind set. if we spent as much time caring for others as we do killing, this would be a wonderful place.
if you have watched the either of the startreck series, pickard in particular, it is there. the mindset needed for us to survive, and it doesn't have to be any more difficult than we choose to make it.
