I am having trouble understanding the exponents here
first I have .........
What expression raised to the fourth power is
81x^12 y^8 z^16?

also I am struggling on find the values of the follwoing polynomials
-x^2-5x-6x, when x=-3 and x=-2?
I do not get this do I plug the given values into the equation and then solve from there? Please help me.

81 = 3 ^4

knowing that (a^n)^m = a^nm
x^12 = (x^4)3 y^8 = (y^4)^2 and z^16 = (z^4)^3

so the expression is 3 x^4 y^2 z^4

your expression can be simplified as -x^2 -11x

for x= 3 it gives -42 , for x=-2 it gives 13

1.
(3X^3)^4(Y^4)^2(Z^4)^4 multiply out to check, in term order

3^4=81..... X^3 raised to the 4th power, means you MULTIPLY exponents If two bases...X^2*X^2 you would add. See the difference? And continue like that down the line.

As you second problem looks, I see nothing to do, but plug in the values given and work.

To cut a short story short see the link below
Just one I picked at random which also explains the
problem of the rice and the chess board which was
quite a nice story.
If you are still strugling after reading the article then errr
well
good luck.

3x^3 y^2 z^4. Remember your properties.

As for the two values of x, is there a subscript? If so, then yes, substitute. Otherwise, I don't know what the question is about.
