i need to know a good brand and type of seed starting soil that will be ok for vegetables that will be safe to eat a soil that holds water well and will not dry out to fast and something water can soak into easily please help with any ideas or suggestions

any potting soil is ok...alot of brands out there that match miracle grow in the ingredients for a less price. Watch how you water your seedlings..you can actually drown(over-water) some types of seeds...good luck

You may not need to buy any soil mix. (I'm assuming you are planting this garden in your yard?) If so, you want a well drained soil with lots of organic matter. Compost is a gardener's best friend and it's easy to make your own.

anny bagged potting soil is fine to use.
