What is download/upload?

9 What is download/upload?

When the information flows from somewhere e.g. a web-page or a site to your PC you are "downloading" on the other hand when you send information e.g. request for a web-page, you are "uploading"

downloadng means copying anything that is on the internet to your very computer disk. this means that when ever you open a website, some data of the site gets copied on your hard drive. even a site which is opened by you counts as a download.
an upload is any data that you send across, be it an attachment file, an applet, a text file, what evr is sent to another computer on the internet is called an upload.
when ever you open sites, some down load takes place similarly when u mail some one, some up load takes place,
this trtaffic is measured in packets of data, measured in Bits and bytes. 1kilo byte is 1024 bytes. and 8 bits is 1 byte.
simplarly 1024 mega bytes is 1 GB (Giga byte)
broadband services like BSNL has opened the traffic to 1 Gb according to your querry. hence see how much freedom they have given you to surf the net...
isnt it good ??

I have a prof. and this prof. of mine give us some techniques in hacking, he told us that one of the possible thing of being hacked is by using IRC like yahoo messenger,IRC itself and others, this is the very easy hacking techniques for them, he told us the procedure of hacking other computers and he said that they are using a DOS prompt and a simple program. This is the second and third code or syntax that they will have to type into DOS prompt. Second code: -a Third code: -A I forgot about the first one but I've tried it myself when he told us the codes and I saw a bunch of IP addresses, by using that codes the DOS prompt will shows all the IP addresses connected with them by means of chatting of course. After that the hacker will randomly select for the victim and try to hack the victim's computer by using a program created using VB6, if the victim has a administrative password (The first promprt password when you tried to install an O.S to your computer) then the hacker will need that program, by the way the program is used to know your Admin. password. After that if the hacker gets in to your computer the only thing that they can access is your shared files or folders so do not share your files, and if they successfully done it they will map a network through your computer, so that they can have a easy access to that computer again by skipping the preceding procedures. My answer to your question is: -I think you cannot caught the hacker, hackers are not stupid to be caught unless your a hacker. Prevention: 1. Do not share your files or folders. 2. Do not chat with strangers. 3. Install a firewall. 4. if its possible do not store any confidential files in a computer you can store it in a cd's 5. Install a stable O.S like Windows 2000 it is built for security, try Vista . There I hope it can help.

Hi.,
If you want to transfer your files through internet to your friend usually u send it as a mail attachment. If the file size is too heavy or if you have more files to transfer then you can upload all your files to FTP(file transfer protocol).Copying your files to FTP is called as uploading. Your freind can copy these files back from FTP to his system. This is called as downloading. This is just an example.Hope i have given you sufficient info.

yes surfing net also counts depend the stuff your web page contents. if u see pictures, videos (not even u download) they will be counted much. in the reverse also if u send pictures , videos it counts much. just sending email receiving email willnot count much. and also how much time u stay connected is also not a matter. now 1Gb morethan enough for normal use. enjoy
